Why Using a Transfer StationToday’s large landfills no longer allow small vehicles to enter their site for safety issues and the fact that small vehicles would get stuck in a modern landfill is part of the reason the general public is not allowed. Less people less chance of an accident. The Kewaunee Recycling and Waste Transfer Station is designed and managed for safe unloading of small and large alike plus they are easier to keep clean with paved unloading areas.
Transfer stations reduce the cost of transporting waste and recycling to distant dumps and landfills by serving as convenient hubs that manage your community's waste and recycling. At the transfer station, waste is consolidated and transferred to large, long-distance trucks for delivery to disposal facilities. |
Why Using The Kewaunee Recycling and Waste Transfer StationOur transfer station is independently owned and our belief in personal service where possible will leave your experience here as a positive influence in your mind. We do take single stream recycling items along with your household trash for recycling so feel free to bring it along. Please bundle any cardboard separate please. We are not just a disposal site – we believe in the laws of recycling: *Reduce * Reuse * Recycle * Reject * Repair * Compost

Small vehicles you will either unload inside if you can dump your load or outside into an open top box. For large vehicles you WILL UNLOAD INSIDE. Some minor separation may occur, and loads will be mixed and compacted into a larger box and when that trash is tightly compacted into one heavy load it will be hauled to the landfill.
